China’s import demand for agricultural products: The impact of the Phase One trade agreement

In December 2019, China committed to purchase more imports from the United States under a Phase One trade agreement. We show that most efficient way for increase its agricultural is mimic effect of an import subsidy, which would need be 42% and 59%, respectively, meet 2020 2021 targets in absence other growth 2017. As result, divert away countries, especially Australia Canada, followed by Brazil, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam.
